Fundus check: Should I dilate pupils or not?

Glaucoma risk due to ophthalmic drops which cause pupil dilation is rare.

Fundus camera photography offers a precise, fast and analytical assessment diagnosis in the majority of retinal diseases, such as age-related macular degeneration, development of choroidal neovascular membranes, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vascular occlusions, various reasons maculopathies and many other frequent or rare pathologies of the retina.

A-ultrasonography is a system of ultrasound biometry, immersion and ultrasonic pachymetry for determining intraocular lenses (IOL), corneal thickness etc.

B-ultrasonography is a two dimension imaging system of the eyeball, the optic nerve, and extra ocular muscles for examining eyes which have opacities in the cornea or in the crystalline lens.

The spectral optical coherence tomography (S-OCT) is a new eye imaging and diagnostic method. This technology achieves high resolution layered retinal images without contacting the eye.

The refraction is a vision test that determines your best visual aquity with corrective lenses.
Usually It can be done with the use of an instrument called a phoropter.

Fluorescein angiograghy (fluorescein: the type of dye theat is used, angiogram: a study of the blood vessels) is an extremely valuable test that provides information about the circulatory system and the condition of the back of the eye. F/A's are useful for evaluating many eye diseases that affect the retina.
